HILL COUNTY, TX — Whitney police arrested 34-year-old Derek Ward on continuous sex abuse of young children charges.
After producing a warrant for search of property, Whitney police found child pornography on Ward's laptop and asked to speak to him. Ward went willingly with the police, and during the interview he admitted to downloading child pornography off the internet and also admitted to sexually abusing his female relative when she was younger.
Ward said he first sexually abused his female relative when she was eight years old, and it continued until about two years ago.
He is currently in police custody on first degree felony charges.
