WACO, TX — The Waco Police Department and McLennan County Sheriff's office are responding to a bomb threat at Cargill on Lakeshore drive.

The business received a phone call with the credible threat at 3 p.m. and has since evacuated all employees.

"The Sheriff's department sent one of their specialized units to help with the situation and they are on scene now," said Officer Bynum, Public Information Officer with Waco PD.

While bomb units are on the scene to investigate several employees have left the site, but some who are unable to access their vehicles are still standing outside.

"I don't have a time frame as to how long they are going to be here," said Officer Bynum. "I've spoken with their management team who are just concerned about their workers and trying to make sure that everybody is safe."

Shortly after 6pm, Officer Bynum said that the McLennan County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad unit concluded their search of the business and deemed it safe.

Cargill informed Officer Bynum that they will resume operations first thing in the morning.

The investigation is still ongoing.
