WACO, TX — The Waco Fire Department responded to a brush fire Sunday morning near the Heart of Texas Miniature Aircraft Club after a model plane crashed down.
Officials say the fire burned about 5 acres before it was extinguished.
The fire occurred near 3400 Overflow Rd.
Around 11 a.m., Waco fire said units were operating on the Speegleville side of Lake Waco.
According to officials, the fire was located off of the roadway, prompting additional units to respond that are capable of reaching and extinguishing the fire.
The fire is under control at this time.
