Two people shot in Chilton, suspects arrested

CHILTON, TX — Two people were sent to the hospital after a shooting in Chilton Friday evening.

21-year-old David Espinoza of Marlin and 24-year-old Raelynn Swinnea of Kosse were arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The Falls County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting that had just occurred on May 22 at 8:45pm.

Deputies responded to the location to find that two (2) subjects, a 22-year old female from Waco and a 25-year old male from Chilton had been shot.

The two had been transported by family members to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

The Lott Police Department and Rosebud Police Department along with Texas Parks & Wildlife Game Wardens also had responded to the scene.

Officers and Deputies were able to gain suspect information as they had fled the scene. A broadcast over the radio was done with the suspect information, according to Fall's County Sheriff Ricky Scaman.

Officers with the Marlin Police Department located the suspect vehicle and were able to apprehend the suspect after a brief confrontation.

Arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon were Raelynn Swinnea, 24-years old of Kosse and 21-year old David Espinoza of Marlin.

Both remain in the Falls County Jail.

The status of the two victims is not known at this time.
