BURNET COUNTY, TX — Two men were killed after the sheriff's office said a utility pole fell on them on Saturday.

The sheriff's office said on Saturday at approximately 3:40 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the scene of a reported job site accident involving two deaths near State highway 71 and Twisted Oaks Drive.

When they arrived, deputies met with personnel from the Marble Falls area EMS, who confirmed that two workers had been killed.

The investigation of the scene and an interview with a surviving worker revealed that a 9,000-10,000 pound metal utility pole had fallen onto two workers during lifting operations.

30-year-old Patrick Sheesley and 49-year-old Bryan Weatherford were killed.

They were working for Maslonka Powerline Services out of Spokane, Washington, under contract with the Pedernales Electric Cooperative.

Death was pronounced by Burnet County Justice of the Peace Debbie Bindseil and autopsies have been ordered.

The incident is under investigation by the occupational Safety and Health Administration.
