Two people are recovering after jumping out of a burning apartment in Killeen Monday afternoon.
According to the Killeen Police Department, the fire started around 12:30 p.m. on Lake Road.
At this time, it’s unknown what caused the fire, but authorities said nine people were forced out of the building, as well as three birds and one dog.
A police officer was also treated for smoke inhalation and is in stable condition, police added.
