CLIFTON, TX — The Clifton Police Department apprehended two fugitives at the same residence within 24 hours.

According to the Clifton Police Department, around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on West 13th Street. Clifton PD says officers located drug paraphernalia and illegally-obtained prescription drugs.

Officers identified and apprehended 32-year-old Christine Elizabeth Lorey. Clifton PD says Lorey was found to have an active felony warrant in Arkansas for drug related charges.

At 10:40 a.m. on August 14, Clifton PD says officers made forced entry into the same residence after receiving information that a second fugitive was at the residence.

When officers entered the residence, they saw a man run into a bedroom and barricade himself in a closet. After a brief standoff, the man exited the closet and was taken into custody without incident.

Clifton PD says officers searched the closet and found a loaded 9mm handgun on the floor with a holster laying nearby. Clifton PD says the gun was reported stolen in Johnson County.

32-year-old Carlos Adolfo Garcia was transported to the Bosque County Jail. According to Clifton PD, Garcia was wanted for burglary of a habitation, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, injury to a child, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a controlled substance.
