LAMPASAS, TX — The Lampasas County Sheriff's Office said live antique blasting caps and other explosive materials were found in a rural area on Sunday.
The sheriff's said that they responded to a call to an address on South River Road in Lampasas. After investigating, they found the explosives.
The caps and explosives had manufacture dates over 20 years old and were possibly unstable, so the U.S. Army Explosives Ordnance Disposal from Fort Hood were called in.
The explosives were rendered safe, and they were brought back to Fort Hood for disposal.
No criminal act is suspected in this incident.
