SALADO, TX — The Village of Salado has named a new chief of police for the Salado Police Department.

According to the city, they have hired Pat Boone. It was announced by Village Administrator Don Ferguson.

Boone is currently the Director of the Central Texas College Police Academy since 2013. Before that, he spent 17 years with the Killeen Police Department where he became a Lieutenant.

He will begin his new role as chief on April 1. He will also earn an annual salary of $74,500. Boone will be filing a vacancy created in December 2018 by Rick Ashe.

"The Village is very fortunate to have the opportunity to hire a person with the background and experience that Mr. Boone brings," Ferguson said. “He was chosen from a competitive field of more than thirty applicants.”
