ROSEBUD, TX — A Central Texas teacher is facing accusations that she falsified a transcript.
A Falls County Constable arrested 45-year-old Phyllis Taylor on Wednesday. The constable was notified of the crime by Rosebud ISD Superintendent Dr. Steve Brownlee, who reported that Taylor submitted a high school transcript from Tolar ISD that had been altered.
She is accused of falsifying the document on Nov. 12, shortly before the school’s Thanksgiving break.
Taylor was charged with tampering with government records and booked into the Falls County Jail. She has since been released on a $10,000 bond.
Taylor is an English teacher and basketball coach at Rosebud-Lott Middle School. According to the Texas Education Agency, she received a certificate for physical education in 1998 and a standard classroom teaching certificate for special education in 2007.
