GROESBECK, TX — The Groesbeck Police Department is warning parents after they say two students were arrested for possession of Ecstasy at school.

Authorities say on Thursday, October 24, Groesbeck High School staff received an anonymous tip regarding possible drug activity occurring on campus.

The staff was able to locate the reported student and found suspected narcotics in the student's possession. Groesbeck PD was contacted and tested the items found, which then tested positive for MDMA (Ecstacy).

The student was charged with possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 2 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone and placed in juvenile detention.

On Wednesday, October 30, police say a second student was arrested after being found in possession of suspected Ecstacy pills. The pills tested positive for MDMA (Ecstacy).

The student was arrested for possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 2 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone and placed in the Limestone County Jail.

In a Facebook post, police say they wanted to share the information so parents and guardians could familiarize themselves with recreational drugs being used by youth.

In both cases, the Ecstacy pills resembled a blue Transformer Autobot, an orange Transformer Autobot, an orange Pacman Ghost and a purple grenade.

The pills can easily go undetected by those unfamiliar with them, according to the department.

Groesbeck PD says drug use is not unique to Groesbeck ISD.

Anyone with information is asked to talk to the police department, school staff member, or report an anonymous tip at tip411.
