Patrol vehicle crashes into suspected intoxicated driver during police pursuit

THRALL, TX — A patrol vehicle crashed into a suspected intoxicated driver during a police pursuit, according to the Thrall Police Department.

According to Thrall PD, Officer Ballard attempted to stop a reckless and allegedly intoxicated driver, who attempted to flee. Thrall PD says the vehicle had been reported by several drivers who had seen the vehicle swerving from lane to lane.

Thrall PD says as Officer Ballard got behind the vehicle, the driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.

After several miles, Thrall PD says the driver slammed on his brakes, and Officer Ballard crashed into the back of the vehicle.

Thrall PD says no one was injured in the crash.

Thrall PD says the driver was not licensed and is suspected of being intoxicated at the time. The driver has been charged with felony evading at this time.
