One person arrested, other wanted after deputies bust cockfighting operation

One person was arrested and another is still wanted after deputies with the Navarro County Sheriff's Office busted a cockfighting operation.

According to NCSO, on Sunday, July 28, deputies responded to a possible cockfighting event taking place on NW 0150 Rice.

When deputies and detectives began approaching the rural location, NCSO says numerous persons ran into the woods from the remote area.

NCSO says deputies located a fighting arena and evidence of a cockfighting operation.

During the investigation, NCSO says detectives were able to obtain arrest warrants for two people believed to be responsible for the operation.

On August 5th, one of those wanted for the operation was arrested by NCSO. The second person is still wanted.
