NAVARRO COUNTY, TX — Navarro County officials say a missing child was located safe Saturday night after a nearby neighbor received the county's emergency alert.

Navarro County OEM sent out the alert around 8:39 p.m. about a 3 year-old-girl who went missing wearing only a pull-up. Officials said numerous units were headed to search for the child who was last seen two miles east of Frost on Highway 22.

By 9:14 p.m., officials said the child had been located and found safely by a nearby neighbor due to receiving the alert.

"Thank you, Bobby Vickery, for your awareness of the missing child though the Navarro County/ City of Corsicana Alert Notification System," said officials. "While ground units and drone assets were in route, by you taking the initiative after receiving the notification, you found the missing child almost 1 mile from where she was last seen."

Navarro County OEM said this is the very reason for the tools they use and have in place. Through alerts and social media updates, the public is able to be aware of these types of situations.
