NAVASOTA, TX — Students were taken to the hospital for minor injuries following a crash involving a Navasota Independent School District school bus Thursday morning.

School officials say Bus 4 was involved in a rear-end crash on State Highway 105 just before 8 a.m.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the bus was heading westbound in stop-and-go traffic near County Road 446 when a Dodge 3500 failed to control its speed.

The pickup then struck the rear left side of the bus before sideswiping its left side.

Eleven students reported minor pain and were taken to Grimes St. Joseph Hospital. Navasota ISD arranged for the remaining students to be taken to the same hospital.

The driver of the Dodge was taken to Tomball Hospital with minor injuries.

It's unclear at this time what caused the crash.
