MIDWAY, TX — Midway Middle School and Midway High School went into a "hold" status Thursday after a loud popping noise was heard in the middle school parking lot.
In a letter sent to parents, Midway ISD said many people in the Midway Middle School parking lot heard loud, unidentified popping noises right before pickup.
Students on both campuses were told to remain in 8th period classes as part of a hold security status until the noise was investigated and cleared by the Hewitt Police Department.
The district said they are grateful for the fast reactions of everyone involved from reporting the noise to staff following protocol and police response.
