MART, TX — People in Mart are stepping up to help a neighbor in need after one family lost everything they owned in a house fire.
Now people in the community are gathering donations to help get the family back on their feet.
"This is like any other small Texas town. We've already begun to gather things up for them cause they need everything," said Tommy Roberson, President of the Mart Lions Club.
Here's how you can help:
- Large appliances or furniture can be dropped off at the First Baptist Church of Mart at the garage behind the church.
- Cooking and kitchen utensils can be dropped off at City Hall.
The Mart Lions Club is also accepting monetary donations on the family's behalf.
A fundraiser will be held Friday at the Mart football game to benefit the family.
