Man killed, woman in serious condition after crashing into unattended truck on highway

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TX — A 76-year-old man is dead and a 73-year-old woman is in serious condition after a crash on US 190 Tuesday evening.

The crash happened on US 190 six miles north of Hearne around 6 p.m.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says an unattended 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 was parked without lights on in the southbound lane in a construction zone. A 2009 Ford F-150 traveling southbound on US 190 struck the back right of the Dodge.

The driver of the Ford, 76-year-old Jimmie Edward Fagan of Hearne, was pronounced dead on scene.

The passenger, 73-year-old Jerry Steele Fagan of Hearne, was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital (Bryan) in serious condition.

DPS says this is an ongoing investigation and no additional information is available for release at this time.
