Man hands officer joint after being pulled over for running red light

COLLEGE STATION, TX — A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) after he was pulled over for running a red light and handed the officer a joint.

The College Station Police Department said around 11:19 p.m. on Monday, November 25, a car was stopped for running a red light when the officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana.

The man handed over a joint to the officer.

Following an intoxication investigation, the driver was arrested for DWI.

The man was also found to be in possession of ecstasy and fake currency along with credit cards and ID's belonging to other people.

The man has been charged with DWI, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, forgery and fraud.

According to CCPD, the legal definition for intoxicated includes not having he normal use of mental or physical faculties by reason of the introduction of any substance into the body.
