LIMESTONE COUNTY, TX — A man assaulted a deputy while he was being placed in handcuffs, according to the Limestone County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a residence on Highway 14 South in reference to a disturbance.
The Limestone County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrived on scene and determined that the aggressor had barricaded himself into the residence and was being non-compliant.
The sheriff's office says due to exigent circumstance, the front door to the residence was breached and the suspect was placed into handcuffs. While placing the suspect into handcuffs, authorities say he began to resist and assaulted one of the deputies.
The suspect was successfully placed into custody and transported to Limestone Medical Center before being booked into LCSO Jail.
LCSO says the deputy who was assaulted received minor injuries and returned to patrol duties.
