A man was arrested for DWI after a train versus car crash in Robertson County that sent his wife and two children to the hospital.

According to the Texas Department of Public Transportation, around 10:30 a.m., troopers received a report of a crash involving a train on Bartkowiak Road south of Bremond.

DPS says a Union Pacific train was traveling northbound when it struck a 1999 Lexus four-door traveling eastbound.

Two children, a 2-year-old and a child less than one-years-old, were in the car at the time of the crash. Both were taken to McLane Children's Hospital. A woman passenger was taken to Baylor Scott & White Temple.

All three sustained non-life threatening injuries at the time of the crash.

The driver, later identified as 19-year-old Ryan Jones of Bremond, was taken to CHI St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan, where he was treated and released. Jones was then arrested for DWI with a child and possession of marijuana under two ounces.

DPS says the children were in car seats at the time of the crash. Investigators are working to determine if the car seats were properly installed.

The crash is under investigation.
