Man arrested for allegedly driving to have sex with child, provide child with marijuana, ecstasy

HAMILTON, TX — A 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly driving to Hamilton to have sex with a child and provide the child with marijuana and ecstacy.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says on Tuesday, March 10, deputies conducted an operation in the 200 block of South Stidham Street in Hamilton.

HCSO says 23-year-old Charles Anthony McLaughlin of Killeen traveled to Hamilton with the intent to engage in sexual intercourse with a child. Deputies say he further agreedto provide the child with marijuana ecstacy.

When McLaughlin arrived, he was met by HCSO investigators and deputies. He was found in possession of marijuana and ecstacy.

McLaughlin was charged with online solicitation of a minor with intent to engage in sexual intercourse, a second degree felony, and manufacture/ delivery of a controlled substance penalty group one under one gram in a drug-free zone, a third degree felony.
