MADISONVILLE, TX — A man was arrested and charged after police say he led officials on a chase on Monday.
According to Madisonville police, they were attempting to serve a felony warrant on Terry Joe Sherman, 35, in the 100 block of West Visor for failure to appear, assault of family violence on a family member and impeding breath.
When officers arrived at the residence, Sherman exited through the back bedroom window and fled on foot leaving two small children alone in the house. The children were ranging from one to two years old.
Officers gave chase on foot and eventually found Sherman hiding in another residence's barn.
Sherman was booked into the Madison County Jail with additional charges of evading arrest and endangering a child.
His bond was not set on the last two charges.
