FALLS COUNTY, TX — A man was arrested in Milam County after law enforcement officials said he robbed a driver and burglarized two homes on Friday.

According to officials, around 2:30 p.m., a driver, who was flagged down near Westphalia in Falls County, was robbed at gunpoint by a man. The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Luis Sarinana.

The suspect took an unknown amount of money and left the scene.

Soon after the incident, a home was burglarized and had a gun safe stolen. Sarinana then fled the area.

Both incidents happened in Falls County. Falls County Sheriff Ricky Scaman arrived on the scene and contacted deputies to have them respond to the area.

While canvassing the area, it was believed that Sarinana could still be in that area. In addition, Lott police, Marlin police and Rosebud police were assisting in the search.

Officials called in a helicopter from the McLennan County Sheriff's Department. The helicopter was looking for the suspect in the area, but was not able to find him.

In Milam County, another home was burglarized, this time with a person inside the home. The person in the home is expected to be OK.

Sarinana was located in Cameron. Cameron police found the money from the initial robbery from a driver and the gun safe that was taken from the first burglarized home.

When he was located, there was a brief struggle between the suspect and law enforcement.

He was later arrested and transported to the Milam County Jail.

Sarinana also had charges out of Falls County. He was charged with aggravated robbery and burglary of a habitation. His bond is set at $65,000.

Sheriff Scaman said that he is happy with the way that each agency worked together to get such a "dangerous and heinous criminal" off the streets.

A total of eight agencies were on the scene.
