Local event cancellations pour in amid coronavirus concerns

Cancellations are coming in as coronavirus concerns heighten.

Canceled events include:

Chilifest 2020

The Big Event 2020 at Texas A&M University

Neal Recreation Center will be closed at 6 p.m. on March 13 through Sunday, March 22.

Maroon & White Night on March 20 has been canceled.

ASAP Basketball has been postponed until BISD facilities are available.

Adult Pickleball has been postponed until BISD facilities are available.

Blue Bunny Egg Hunt and Picnic Breakfast on March 28 has been canceled.

Start Smart Soccer has been postponed a week and is expected to begin the week of March 23.

All remaining SKYWARN classes

Richland Mall has canceled or postponed all planned events including their seasonal Easter Bunny photo program

The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum has canceled the Spring Break Train Trip scheduled for Saturday, March 14. For those visitors who already bought tickets, all trip costs will be fully refunded.

The Temple Parks and Recreation Department has cancelled Paws on the Plaza scheduled for Saturday, March 21.

The Bush’s Spring Chicken 10K Run scheduled for Saturday, March 28.

Eastside Market has postponed it's EASTSIDE LIVE event until a better time.

The China Spring Volunteer Fire Department is postponing their BBQ fundraiser that was scheduled for March 28th.

The Robertson County Fair has been postponed.

Pitch Hit & Run on April 4 in Bryan has been canceled.

Bloomin' Temple has been canceled.

Crime Stoppers golf tournament that was scheduled for Friday, April 3rd has been canceled.


Highland Baptist Sunday will be closing doors March 15, but will Live Stream gatherings at 8:40am, 10am, and 11:20am at

Holy Spirit Episcopal Church will be live-streaming Sunday services. All other programming and events until Sunday, April 5 have been put on hiatus. The church will livestream 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM Morning Prayer with Homily each of the Sundays of March. Those services will then be available for viewing during the week via a Facebook video stream.
