One person dead after livestock causes major multi-vehicle crash in Groesbeck

GROESBECK — UPDATE: DPS said a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling eastbound was disabled in the middle of the roadway after crashing into a cow.

A Dodge SUV traveling westbound swerved to the left and crashed head on into the Chevrolet.

The driver of the Dodge, Aundrea Simms, 37, of Madisonville was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Next of kin have been notified.

Groesbeck Fire & Rescue is currently working a major multi-vehicle crash.

They said the crash is due to loose livestock on Highway 164, east of Groesbeck.

The road will be shutdown until the accident is clear.
