MEXIA, TX — A man was arrested in Mexia after officials determined he was driving a stolen vehicle and was in possession of methamphetamine.

Corporal Willett of the Limestone County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) conducted a traffic stop just East of Mexia city limits on Highway 84.

At that time, Corporal Willett says it was determined the vehicle was stolen out of Mexia and the suspect driving the vehicle had active warrants out of Mexia Police Department.

Officials also found methamphetamine "in plain sight" of the vehicle upon further investigation.

That suspect was arrested and transported to Limestone County Jail.

While being transported, the suspect also threatened to assault Corporal Willett when he got out of jail.
