Police identify body found in Lampasas as missing San Antonio woman

LAMPASAS, TX — Lampasas police are investigating after they found a body near an unoccupied vehicle on Tuesday.

Police said on Tuesday at approximately 2:52 p.m., they received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Lampasas Business Park located on South 183.

When officers arrived, they found an abandoned vehicle unoccupied and found a body in the vicinity.

The body was sent to Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.

The Lampasas police confirmed that the body is a woman who went missing over the weekend, 26-year-old Mary Lou Rodriguez. She disappeared on Saturday.

Rodriguez's common-law husband was arrested in Blanco County and is charged with murder, said Lampasas police.

Texas Rangers and San Antonio police were also assisting Lampasas police in the investigation.
