UPDATE:
DPS says at 6:50 a.m. a Valley Mills patrol unit crashed into the back of a Ford Expedition. That crash pushed the Ford into the rear of a Chevrolet Silverado.
The driver and passenger in the Ford are getting medical treatment at a hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a traffic crash involving a Central Texas police officer.
Chief Michael Hamilton of the Valley Mills Police Department released a statement Tuesday morning about a crash at Highway 6 and Highway 185. The chief says the crash involved a Valley Mills officer and two vehicles.
Two people were hurt in the crash and taken to a hospital.
The chief says more information will be shared when available.
