UPDATE:
Officials in Bell County have identified 41-year-old Anthony Ramos of Temple as the man who drove his car into Stillhouse Hollow Lake on Friday.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Ramos had evaded Temple PD's attempt to serve an arrest warrant for a misdemeanor in addition to making statements that he wanted to harm himself.
The Sheriff's Office was notified about the situation and was given Ramos' vehicle description and location.
Around 1 p.m., a deputy attempted to stop Ramos in a Nissan Pathfinder near Stillhouse Hollow Lake, but Ramos reportedly kept driving his vehicle towards an intake station at the lake.
Deputies with the Sheriff's Office Mental Health Unit were able to talk with Ramos. During negotiations, it was discovered Ramos also had a handgun.
Several local agencies were called to the scene including the Morgan’s Point Resort Dive Team. After about two hours of negotiations, officials said Ramos drove
his car through the pipe railing and into the lake.
The U.S. Corp of Engineers attempted to rescue the sinking vehicle but was unsuccessful. A Dive team also searched for Ramos but had to stop around 8:45 p.m. due to safety concerns.
Search efforts continued Saturday morning, with the help of the Travis County's Sheriff's Office's submersible drone. Crews were able to get Ramos' body and vehicle out of the water and the scene has been cleared.
