KILLEEN, Texas (KXXV) — The Killeen Police Department says K9 Merlin died Monday following a recent medical issue and treatment.

K9 Merlin joined the department in 2016, working on narcotics seizures and arrests.

The department is encouraging members of the community to share any pictures taken during interactions with K9 Merlin through Facebook Messenger.
