KILLEEN, Texas (KXXV) — During a special called meeting Tuesday, the Killeen City Council voted against appointing anyone to fill the remaining term for Jose Segarra, who stepped down last month.
In a 5-1 vote, the council opted to keep the seat unfilled until the May 2 election.
Segarra resigned in January to run for another leadership role in the city - mayor. Joseph Solomon, another council member, also announced plans to step down to run for the mayoral seat.
