WALKER COUNTY, TX — A Harker Heights teen was killed in a head-on crash a short-time after a drive-by shooting.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 5 p.m. on US-75 south of Highway 19 near Park Road 40.

DPS says a 2013 Ford Taurus was traveling southbound when it passed in a non-passing zone at a hill and struck a 2012 Ford Fusion head-on.

The driver of the Fusion, 23-year-old Clayton Matthew Garmon of Huntsville, was killed in the crash.

The Taurus had four occupants. Three of the occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

They were identified as the driver, 18-year-old Shawn James Hudson of Silsbee, and two passengers, 18-year-old Isaac Vincent Espinoza of Harker Heights and 22-year-old Jannice Tanton of Buna.

The fourth occupant, 18-year-old Daniel Keyvohn McMahon of Huntsville, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann at the Texas Medical Center and is critical condition.

A short time before the crash, a drive-by shooting took place in the 1600 block of Persimmon in Huntsville. According to DPS, the Ford Taurus is believed to be the same car used in the shooting.

DPS says several witnesses saw the vehicle matching the Taurus in a drive-by shooting. No one was hit in the shooting.

Huntsville Police Lieutenant Barns says Huntsville Police are working with DPS on the crash.

DPS says a gun was recovered from the Taurus at the crash scene. The gun is being tested to determine if it matches the casings found at the drive-by.
