Freestone County Sheriff's Office searching for alleged shooting suspect

The Freestone County Sheriff's Office is looking for an alleged shooting suspect who is still at large and believed to be on the run from law enforcement.

On the afternoon of November 6, a shooting occurred just south of Fairfield city limits in Freestone County.

The sheriff's office says one individual received a gun shot wound to the upper left torso area. The victim received treatment at the hospital and was later released.

The alleged shooting suspect, 19-year-old Clyde Edward Washington Jr., is still at large and believed to be on the run from law enforcement, the sheriff's office said.

He has an active warrant with the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Anyone with information concerning Clyde Edward Washington Jr.’s whereabouts should immediately contact the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office at 903-389-3236.

Clyde Edward Washington Jr. is considered a felony fugitive and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone found harboring or hindering his apprehension will face criminal prosecution within the fullest extent of the law, according to the sheriff's office.

No further information is being released at this time for this is currently an active investigation by the FCSO.
