Former Marlin city manager arrested, accused over traffic citation quota

FALLS COUNTY, TX — Former Marlin City Manager Alan Grindstaff was arrested on Wednesday following a grand jury indictment.

According to Falls County officials, Grindstaff was arrested for the abuse of official capacity.

Grindstaff violated the Texas Transportation Code Section 720.002 while acting as the city manager of Marlin.

He told Marlin police chief Nathan Sodek that his department was required to issue a specified number of traffic citations within a specified period of time.

He was transported to the Falls County Jail. His bond is set at $15,000.
