WACO, TX — Rainbow rooms across Central Texas still need donated supplies amid coronavirus.

“Donations just really haven’t come in during this pandemic" said Robert Satchell, Rainbow Room Administrator for Waco.

“Unfortunately, with the pandemic, people have naturally stayed at home so we haven’t had those donations in the last month or so, so it’s been unfortunate“ Satchell explained.

Rainbow rooms help provide children with necessities during times of crisis. When children are in transition and left without car seats, clothes, hygiene products and even food, rainbow rooms help fill those needs.

“From clothes to hygiene products, and sometimes even food, so across-the-board whatever their essential needs are we have it stocked for those children” said Sachtell.

Most items rainbow rooms supply to children are donated by those in the surrounding community, which the pandemic has slowed.

According to Satchell, the items most requested are car seats and 'pack and plays'.

“We’re still down here at 801 Austin Avenue, come and support us via donations, and sometimes volunteers when we can get back to the normal that we know, but just continue to keep contacting us via email and will find a way to line up and get those donations we can get them out to families“ explained Satchell.
