Early morning fire leads to road closures in Temple

TEMPLE, TX — Temple Fire & Rescue is asking drivers to avoid roads in the 100 block of W. Avenue D, after a fire early Monday morning.

Firefighters responded to a fire behind the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store just after 3 a.m.

Crews found heavy smoke coming from the building, with the exterior showing signs of fire inside.

Firefighters were finally able to get the flames under control around 5:15 a.m.

No one was inside the building at the time, and no injuries have been reported.

However, operations in the area continue.

The Temple Police Department and EMS also responded.
