DPS warns drivers to pull over if they feel tired after woman dies in fiery crash

One person is dead after an accident on State Highway 6, west of Iredell.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said that the accident happened near CR 2475 on Tuesday evening.

A Nissan passenger car was traveling southbound when it left the roadway. The driver attempted to correct her path and lost control. leading her to cross into the path of a Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer traveling northbound.

Both vehicles erupted into flames. The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been identified as Alexandra Vaca, 23, of Kingwood.

The driver of the Kenworth truck was brought to the hospital.

DPS said If you feel sleepy, stop driving. Fatigue affects your reaction time, judgment, and vision, which can potentially lead to a crash.
