COPPERAS COVE, TX — The Copperas Cove Police Department was awarded a $9,600 State Farm Good Neighbor grant to educate adolescent youth and young adults on the dangers of impaired driving.

The grant funds will be used to create a DWI Pedal Cart Program, which includes the purchase of pedal carts, drunk buster goggles, cones and an enclosed trailer for travel and storage.

The carts and drunk goggles will be used to demonstrate the dangers of impaired driving.

Copperas Cove police applied for the grant with the goal of bringing awareness and safety with as much interaction and learning as possible to the adolescent youth and young adults in the community.

The program will be available to schools in Copperas Cove and Lampasas ISD as well at community events such as National Night Out, Cone with a Cop and Fall-O-Ween Festival.
