COPPERAS COVE, TX — The Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas has given Copperas Cove ISD its highest rating of superior.

It's the 17th consecutive year that the school district has received this major recognition of of the 1,200 school districts and charters that are rated.

Superintendent Joe Burns says he couldn't be happier.

"We are always excited when we get the opportunity to look at that score card and see that Copperas Cove ISD has the very best rating," Burns said. "That just demonstrates the commitment on behalf of the district by our board and trustees and by our staff who operate the most ethical and normal way in managing those public funds."

The first ratings are based on 15 financial indicators, including operating expenditures for instruction, tax collection rates, student-teacher ratios and long-term debt.
