A Copperas Cove High School alum has been selected as the U.S. Navy Sailor of the Quarter.
Copperas Cove High School 2016 alum Joseph George was selected as the U.S. Navy Sailor of the Quarter and will compete for Sailor of the Year, according to the Copperas Cove Independent School District.
Joseph is currently stationed on the ship George Bush in Norfolk, Virginia.
His brother Luis graduated in 2019 and is also serving in the Navy in Norfolk on another ship, the Stennis, according to the district.
"Both brothers are following in the footsteps of their father who served in the U.S. Army," Copperas Cove ISD said in their Facebook post.
"Congratulations to Joseph George and we wish you much success in the Sailor of the Year competition."
Joseph and Lewis are also the sons of Copperas Cove Junior High teacher Camille George.
