MILAM COUNTY, TEXAS — Authorities were called out to a private property in Milam County around 3:30 p.m. on Nov.22 when 22-year-old Traion Smith and 30-year-old Desmond Williams went fishing in a stock tank and never returned.

The Milam County Sheriff's Office says the boat overturned while the two were fishing.

Authorities recovered Smith's Sunday, while Williams was recovered around 3:45 p.m. Monday.

Authorities believe the incident is a "tragic accident."

Traion Smith is still known to this day as one of the best running backs Cameron Yoe has ever had.

Smith rushed for more than 7,500 yards and scored 104 touchdowns. He also ran for over 2,000 yards for three years in a row. He also played on three state championship teams for Cameron Yoe.

Smith was injured during his final season, but committed to play football for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor out of high school.
