COLLEGE STATION, TX — The College Station Police Department is warning the community after a series of violent crimes.

College PD says several recent violent crimes, including shootings in the area of the 2100 block of Southwood Drive and 300 block of Harvey Road, are believed to be related.

College PD says the crimes involve ongoing disagreements between two social circles. The department says the social circles are groups of people, not gangs.

According to College PD, many of the incidents have also involved the possession or sale of marijuana. College PD says several felony arrests have already been made, and guns and marijuana related to the incidents have been recovered.

The department says random members of the public have not been targeted.

College PD is encouraging members of the community to be aware of their surroundings and report suspicious activity by calling the College PD Dispatch at (979) 764-3600.
