City of Marlin hosting tutoring event on Feb. 22

MARLIN, TX — The Mayor of Marlin is inviting parents, students and mentors to a tutoring event on Feb. 22.

The "Saturday School" will be at BJ'S Tiny Tots Day Care at 103 Church Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Pre-K through 4th grade students.

5th through 12th grade students can meet at Faith, Hope and Charity at 405 E. First Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mayor Lofton says volunteers will be on hand to assist "you and your child advance in areas of need."

She is asking parents of MISD students to come out and help as they work as a community to prepare students academically.

The post is also asking for Marlin citizens to volunteer to provide tutoring.

Pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch at the event.

"Your help is needed to purchase pizzas through our local Pizza Hut using the code "SATURDAY SCHOOL," according to the event invite.

All pizza purchases should be made by 11 A.M. so volunteers can pick up lunch at noon.
