GROESBECK, TX — The City of Groesbeck Water Treatment Plant is temporarily changing disinfectant chemicals in the drinking water.

The disinfectant chemicals are changing from chloramines to chlorine starting January 21, 2020.

The notice is warning that "some people will notice a slight chlorine smell in the water for this period of time."

They assured that this is a routine procedure the plant performs at least once each year to stay in compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality rules and regulations.

The city will notify residents when it changes back to chloramines.
