City of Comanche declares state of disaster after water line ruptured

COMANCHE, TX — The City of Comanche has declared a state of disaster after a water line was ruptured Monday.

Monday, the Comanche Police Department posted that a large water line feeding the city had been ruptured. As of Monday night, only 30 feet of water was left in the main water tower.

Today, the City of Comanche declared a local state of disaster after "[determining] that extraordinary measures must be taken to alleviate the suffering of people and to protect further damage to property and infrastructure."

The declaration takes effect immediately and activates the City of Comanche Emergency Management Plan.

The Comanche County Texas Emergency Management is distributing water on the north side of Courthouse Square.
