Chief deputy placed on administrative leave for allegations involving 'personnel issues'

GATESVILLE, TX — Coryell County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Mark Wilcox has been placed on administrative leave following allegations involving "personnel issues."

The sheriff's office says Chief Deputy Wilcox was placed on administrative leave on Wednesday, October 23.

The investigation is ongoing and has been referred to the Texas Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers.

In a statement, Coryell County Sheriff Williams said, "I swore before God and family to do what is right for the people I represent, good, bad or indifferent."

Chief Deputy Wilcox has been with the Coryell County Sheriff's Office since 2007.
