CALVERT, TX — Calvert ISD will be closed next week amid coronavirus concerns.

Superintendent Hurst says Calvert ISD schools and offices will be closed March 16th - 20th.

All Calvert district after-school activities, field trips, non-academic events and large getherings have been canceled until further notice.

The district says it is following proactive steps will be taken to protect the Calvert ISD community from COVID-19 and to assist our area’s public health officials in their goal of containing the virus across Brazos County:

• Calvert ISD schools and offices will be closed next week: Monday, March 16 — Friday, March 20. As the spread of the Coronavirus, is rapidly evolving, my team, in coordination with other area leaders and health officials will continue to evaluate the need to extend these planned days of closure. An update will be provided to the Calvert ISD community on an ongoing basis.

• All district after-school activities, field trips, non-academic events and large gatherings have been canceled until further notice. While we fully recognize how important extracurricular and non-academic activities are to our students, we must err on the side of caution in this area. Where possible and safe, we will try to maintain as much normalcy in our students’ routines as possible.
