Bryan police search for shooting suspect

BRYAN, TX — Bryan police are searching for a suspect involved in a shooting that left a 42-year-old victim with "incapacitating injuries."

Police responded to reports of a major disturbance in the 800 block of E. Pruitt on Saturday, October 19 at 10:15 p.m.

"As an officer approached the area, a large crowd was dispersing," said officials.

The officer heard gunshots coming from East Pruitt Street.

The officer attempted to stop a male fleeing the area who was in a vehicle traveling at a high speed. Police later located the vehicle and arrested the driver on two counts of evading in a vehicle.

Police say a 42-year-old man was found at the original scene with a gunshot wound. He was taken to CHI St. Joseph Hospital with "incapacitating injuries" but is in stable condition.

Investigators are working to identify and locate the shooter.
