BRYAN, TX — The City of Bryan Police Department is warning residents after they say they received reports of scammers calling residents pretending to be officers and claiming the residents have a warrant out for their arrest.
According to Bryan PD, these scammers called residents and claimed they were officers with the Bryan Police Department. They would inform the resident that there was a warrant out for their arrest. If the resident did not pay the officer, they claimed they would come to their work or home and arrest them.
Bryan PD is urging residents to hang up if they receive this type of call.
According to the department, if you really had a warrant out for your arrest, the department would not call or demand money. Instead "we are just going to arrest you."
